Batemantown Church
The Batemantown Church was founded in 1826 by Sarah Murphy with gatherings in her home. There were 13 members at that time.

A log church was erected in 1831 on one acre of land that was located on the southeast corner of Yankee Street and Waterford Road. A second church was constructed to replace the log church in 1858. The log church was later purchased by Howard Winand and moved to Waterford.

In 1911,  the present sanctuary was built in the current location. The fire on November 13, 1949, destroyed part of the basement and the first floor. All of the repairs were timely made and in 1960 more construction increased the basement space and added a kitchen in the basement and an Educational Wing. The handicapped elevator, restroom, and outside entrance with no stairs were added in 1997.

The flagpole added in 2012 was dedicated to all the veterans in the community and the base was an Eagle Scout project by Kyle Byrne. The cross in the sanctuary was made and donated by Loren Wagner in 2013. The outside sign was created, installed, and donated by the Shinaberry and Beran families in 2018.
